The
MasmapTiles Installer is a Garmin Mapsource compatible map installer which allows you to easily identify the tile number you want to map on.
To download the MasmapTiles Installer:
1. You need TortoiseSVN, Mapsource and
MapSetToolkit
2. Create a folder anywhere on your PC and name it binaries. Right-click on your binaries folder and choose SVN Checkout then enter the url: (choose one)
a) Binaries1 (slower) -
svn://masmap.org/binaries/ or
http://masmap.org/svn/binaries/
b) Binaries2 (faster) -
http://masmap.googlecode.com/svn/binaries/
3. Once all the files has been downloaded launch MapsetToolKit and Uninstall your MasmapTiles mapset (FID=87), if you have it installed. If not, ignore this step.
MapsetToolkit Installer
4. Click on the Install button and
a) for Registry name > type "MasmapTiles"
b) for TDB file > Point to your binaries folder > point to the MasmapTiles.TDB file
c) for Overview map > point to the MasmapTiles.img file
d) for Typ files > point to 10057.typ or 10057G.typ file depending on your taste. You can change this later.
e) Leave the Notice and Logo field empty
Install an Existing Mapset
f) Make sure Mapsource isn't running before you click on INSTALL
g) A window will popup saying Installation Complete. Click OK and then Close MapSetToolKit
5. Launch Mapsource and change the mapset to
MasmapTiles.
6. Use Find Menu > Find Places (or hit Ctrl-F) to find the city you want to map.
7. Once you have found the city, choose Tools Menu > Map (or hit M on your keyboard) to select the
Map Tool.
8. Using the Map Tool click on the map to identify your map tile. This will be shown in the Map Tab under the User Data Tabs:
